Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of services provided by Chescas Cakety, a home-based bakery offering celebration cakes, bakes from our cake shed, and postal bakes (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Ordering and Payment
1.1. Placing an order
All orders must be placed via our website, email, or social media. Orders are only confirmed once full payment has been received and we have sent an order confirmation.
1.2. Order Confirmation
Once your order is confirmed, you will receive an email with your order details. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please contact us.
1.3. Payment Methods
Full payment is required for all order before preparation begins unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods: bank transfer / PayPal / debit and credit card.
1.4. Price changes
Prices are listed on our website and may change at any time. Confirmed orders will not be affected by price changes.
2. Custom Orders and Design
2.1. Custom Cakes
For custom cakes, please provide details instructions including colours, theme, and flavours.
Changes made after confirmation may incur additional charges and/or delays.
2.2. Design Approval
Where applicable, we may provide a design outline before baking begins. Once approved, no further changes can be made.
2.3. Ingredients and Allergies
It is your responsibility to inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements. We accept no liability for allergic reactions resulting from withheld or incorrect information.
3. Cake Shed and Postal Bakes
3.1. Cake Shed
Bake availability, dates, and opening times for the cake shed will be announced on our social media pages. Once collected, we are not responsible for any damage, deterioration, or spoilage of products.
3.2. Postal Bakes
Postal bakes are packaged securely and dispatched via Royal Mail Next Day. Once the parcel has been handed to the courier, we cannot be responsible for:
- delivery delays
- damage caused during transit
- loss of freshness due to delays
We do not offer refunds for delivery issues outside of our control.
4. Delivery
4.1. Local Delivery
We do not offer local delivery for cakes.
4.2. Delivery Responsibility (postal only)
Postal delivery times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed. Please ensure someone is available to receive the parcel.
4.3 Incorrect Information
You are responsible for providing accurate delivery and contact information. We cannot be held liable for failed deliveries due to incorrect details.
5. Cancellations, Changes and Refunds
5.1. Cancellations
You may cancel your order up to 7 days before the collection/dispatch date for a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the date may incur a charge of 50% of the total order value.
5.2. Changes to orders
Changes may be made up to 7 days before the collection/dispatch date. Changes requested after this point may not be possible and may incur an additional charge.
5.3. Refunds
If you believe your order is incorrect or damaged, you must contact us within 24 hours of collection or delivery with photographic evidence. Refunds or replacements are issued at our discretion. We do not issue refunds for:
- products damaged after collection
- dislikes based on personal preference
- cakes that have been consumed
6. Quality, Storage and Responsibility after Collection
6.1. Storage Instructions
To ensure quality, please follow the storage instructions provided. Cakes should be stored in a cool, dry place and consumed within the recommended time frame.
6.2. Post-collection Responsibility
We take care to ensure your cake leaves us in perfect condition. We are not responsible for damage caused by:
- transportation after collection
- mishandling
- exposure to heat, humidity, or incorrect storage
7. Allergens and Dietary Information
7.1. Allergen Information
Products may contain allergens including: nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, soys. Our kitchen handles all major allergens. We cannot guarantee products are free from traces.
7.2. Dietary Options
We offer some dietary alternatives (e.g., gluten-free or vegan), but cross-contamination is possible as we operate from a home kitchen. Customers with severe allergies should refrain from ordering.
8. Liability
8.1. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the order. We are not liable for:
- indirect or consequential losses
- personal injury caused by incorrect handling
- financial loss, missed events, or emotional distress
8.2. Force Majeure
We are met responsible for delays or failure to fulfil orders caused by events outside of our control, including extreme weather, courier delays, illness, natural disasters, or postal strikes.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the Laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
